11:27p Taking a job or not
Hi everyone,
I know that questions have been asked about Borderlink and mixed opinions exist, but I find myself in a position where I would have to make a snap decision whether or not to accept them. I've read the reviews but I also know that the people who have bad experiences tend to be more vocal.
I'm a former JET, have a master's degree in linguistics, some teaching experience, basic Japanese language skills, and TESL coursework.
I want to go back to Japan to work again a lot, but I don't want to get screwed over.
They put the basic offer of 230,000 yen on the table to be an ALT in the Kanto region. This is one of the regions I think I would like to live in, however, I will have to decide by next Friday if I want it or not. There are other rules like no taking paid leave until after six months, but you can have outside work if you want to.
I have two interviews set up for higher-paying jobs (one at an international school and one at a smaller independent English school).
But neither are guaranteed.
Is Borderlink worth the risk? Or should I hold out for something better? I am just looking for more experienced opinions. Thanks for any insight.

3:56p AEON Personal Interview Failures
Hello all,
Well, my personal interview with AEON has officially come and gone and now the waiting begins.
One thing that I am positive about is that the "pop lesson" that I had to give was a total disaster. I nailed my original presentation at the group meeting, but the lesson I was given at the personal interview was hard, I didn't understand it and I didn't teach it correctly. The recruiter then went over some of the points and asked if I would give it again. I did, and she told me I did a little better, but I still missed the main points of the lesson. She also told me that the lesson was a harder one as I stared dumbfounded at the page. During the rest of the interview I admitted that I have a lot to learn and improve but I really want the chance.
Did anyone else who was offered a job with AEON experience this, or are my chances slim-to-none? I'm just wondering if anyone else totally screwed up their lesson but was still offered the job. I was so confident because I had made the first cut, and now I am feeling pretty disappointed.
Thanks in advance.
